Happy Birthday, Maddy!

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   My BFF's daughter has moved to Iowa which is halfway across the country and we miss her so much.  But she's following her dreams, so we can't hold that distance against her.  She's having a birthday soon and I'm actually going to be on time getting a card to her. IKR?! We should have a national holiday to celebrate that!!

I wanted to make a fun, bold card for her and I think I succeeded. What do you think?

I started by stamping the big, bold flowers from the "Flower Patch" stamp set onto Whisper White Card Stock. I used Melon Mambo, Pool Party, Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight, and Crushed Curry Inks for the flowers and Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive for the leaves. I cut these elements out with the Flower Fair Framelits. I also cut a piece of Blushing Bride Card Stock for the Melon Mambo flower. I stamped a sentiment and frame from the "Rose Wonder" stamp set in Basic Black Archival Ink and cut it out with one of the Rose Garden Framelits.

Next, I adhered a 3-3/4" by 5" piece of black and white striped paper from the Pop of Pink Specialty Series Paper pack to a 3-7/8" by 5-1/8" piece of Melon Mambo Card Stock and then adhered this to a Thick Whisper White Card Stock card base.

I tousled a length of Melon Mambo Thick Baker's Twine and adhered that to the card. I built the flower layers, using Stampin' Dimensionals and I arranged everything on the card--adhering some elements directly to the card with Snail Adhesive and others to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. I also adhered the sentiment to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

For a finishing touch, I cut a small gold Metallic Foil Doily in half and tucked it behind the flowers.

The sad news is that the "Flower Patch" stamp set and coordinating Flower Fair Framelits are retiring at the end of May--along with a couple other accessories (in red). The good news is that the Pop of Pink DSP and Melon Mambo Baker's Twine are on sale!! I've update the prices below with the sale prices.  Remember that the accessories and tools are only available while supplies last, so be sure to get yours today!

Sweet Mother's Day Card

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   I really, really, really liked a card that the Stampin' Up homepage featured recently and that uses one of my favorite sets from the Occasions catalog, "Oh So Succulent."  I knew I could modify the card just a little bit and make a mother's day card for my wonderful mother-in-law.  The original card was made by Charlet Mallet.

For my card, I started by stamping the larger flower outlines in Rich Razzleberry Ink onto Whisper White scraps and filling them in with Blushing Bride Ink. The two-step stamps make this so easy! I also stamped a smaller flower with this color combo. I stamped a solid small flower and a trailing succulent in Blushing Bride as well.  Next, I stamped a couple succulent element outlines in Garden Green Ink and filled them in with Mint Macaron Ink. I used the Succulent Framelits Dies to cut out all the elements.

Next, I used the Polka Dot Embossing Folder to emboss a 3-3/4" by 5" piece of Blushing Bride Card Stock which I then adhered to a 3-7/8" by 5-1/8" piece of Mint Macaron Card Stock.  I tied a length of Thick Whisper White Baker's Twine around these pieces before adhering them to a Thick Whisper White Card Stock card base, cut lengthwise.

I cut a swirly scribble from a piece of Mint Macaron Card Stock using one of the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies. I adhered a Delicate White Doily to the card front with Snail Adhesive and then adhered the scribble on top, using the Fine-Tip Glue Pen.  I used Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the flower elements to the card.

I stamped the sentiment in Whisper White Craft Ink onto a 1/2" strip of Basic Black Card Stock. I sprinkled on some White Stampin' Emboss Powder and embossed the sentiment with my Heat Tool. I flagged the end with my Paper Snips and adhered the strip to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Many of the items I used in this card are retiring at the end of May; I highlighted them in red text.  Accessories are only available while supplies last, so you need to hurry if you want to add these items to your tool kit! But the good news is that some of the items are on sale. I've updated the prices in the links below!

Oh So Gorgeous Vertical Garden Kit

#stampinup   #faithfulinkspirations   I fell in love with just about everything in the Succulent Garden Suite in the 2017 Occasions catalog.  I love the "Oh So Succulent" stamp set and matching Succulent Framelits. I adore the Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper. And I'm over the moon about the "Vertical Garden Project Kit!" It's gorgeous--and it was super easy to put together.  You'll need to put aside about 2 hours to complete the kit, but everything comes together pretty easily. I also recommend watching the video, particularly if you're a visual learner.
The banner uses the "Vertical Garden" stamp set. It's a two-step stamp--stamp the "hello" in Calypso Coral and then the shadow in Tip Top Taupe. The leaves at the side are also stamped in Tip Top Taupe. The banner comes with the kit and is already flagged at the end.
You will need a few additional items that do not come with the kit to finish your project:  Calypso Coral and Tip Top Taupe Ink Pads, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Bone Folder, and Stampin' Pierce Mat. (You'll also need a few acrylic blocks, if you don't have them already: C and H.) And you'll need a hot glue gun to adhere the finished flowers to the tray.

You will absolutely love the finished project! I've hung mine outside my "cube" at work and I've gotten so many compliments! Hurry and get yours today before it retires at the end of May--or sells out before then!
